What effects cold starts?

I read all of these cold start problems. I have a 2005 with 83k miles. I live in FL but it's gotten pretty cold here in the past month or so. A few nights in the teens. My truck has never been in the shop for any motor work at all. My truck alway's cranks about half a second before roaring to life into a smooth idle. It never misses a cylinder on start even at 20 degree's in the morning. I do not plug my truck in. I just use 15W40 premium blue. I'm curious what effects cold starts such as HPOP integrity, FICM voltage, etc...

The main reason I'm asking is that I have tossed around the idea of having the latest flash done to my truck. I like the idea of the wrench light for oil cooler efficiency levels and such. I have no idea what flash I have. I don't hear any injector cycles or vane sweeping on my truck at all though. I'm worried about flashing it and then starting to have problems. What I have seems to be working good. I've read about guy's losing power with the newer flashes, how true is this? I just watch 6.0 cold start's on youtube sometimes and mine starts the same at pretty much all temps. When it's real cold it'll jump to life like it was woke up then quickly purrs at a smooth idle until the higher idle kicks in depending on the temp. WWYD?
