Doing some upgrades to my '05 excursion powerstroke. I would like some opinions on which cold air intakes are worth my time, K&N, banks, airaid, volant etc. I've already done a turbo back exhaust, and banks technicooler kit. I would also like some ideas on fuel milage. When I first bought her, I was averaging around 15 in town, it's been a year and it's dropped to about 12 and this was BEFORE I started the upgrades. The exhaust and intercooler kit has helped. Was this normal milage for a stock 6.0? I've had her checked and everything is ok.:icon_ford:
The DIY is more for the 7.3........... I'm sure you could rig something up though.
Unless you have HIGH horsepower hopes in the future, there is no need to change out the stocker on a 6.0. The stock donaldson will flow as well and filter better than almost anything out there.
If you do change it out, stay away from K&N!!!! AFE and S&B are both good from what I hear. I'd go AFE if I ever change mine out.
