Considering Buying a new 6.4 , so I go to one of the bigger local dealers in the area first .I'm looking at a 350 with the msrp of about $52000 , with the current promotions and such the sale price of the truck came down to $46850. I was told they would give me $11500 for my 03 superduty diesel on trade . Then i told them i wanted to use the X-plan which took an additional $3500 or so of the price of the new one , But..... now they will only give me $7800 for my trade . So its actually costs more if I use the X-plan .WTF . Is this normal ? Are their any dealers out there that will still give you book price on your trade when using the X plan ? Or Are the all that way ?

yea thats a shady deal, and i would tell them to take that truck and shove it up there money hungry...... the x-plan comes from Ford Motor Company that does not come out of the dealers pocket. I also get x-plan pricing and was looking into getting a new one a while ago, and was told it would be 10 - 11k off sticker with all promos. i have also learned that on the day the deal is being done do the trade. find out what they will give you and then say you will just keep it. then come in the day of and say you will give me the truck for X$ and i have my 11k trade also. try and give them the shaft as much as possible or they will give it to you lol

They are playing a game with you.

Tell them you want x plan (which is like 1% over or under invoice- I can't remember) + rebates/incentives. Get that price. Then get the value of your trade in. They are still making money off financing, holdback, trade in resale, and blue oval rebates if they qualify. Make sure you get the $75 doc fee with x plan. Alot of dealers like to jack up the price on that to make extra money. It probably only costs them $20 at the most for document fees. But don't hold me to that number. I'm guessing.

There is no such thing as a sale, promotion, etc at a dealer. It's all about negotiating. Their sale is just wasted ink on paper. It's to get people in the door. It means nothing. Get on ford's website and kbb.com and look up the manufacture rebates/incentives.

Tell them you'll pay $40,000-ish for the truck and $11,000 trade in for the 03 or you're gonna walk out and find a better dealer.

edit: In fact, get a similar offer from another dealer and see how they react :thumb:
