Stubborn Oil Leak!?!?

Well, my early 99 has always marked its territory (its doesn't leak oil! :thumb:). Since i've got it with 135k (165k now) on it, its always left just a little spot of oil behind, so i've changed all the high pressure oil line o-rings, and it will stop for maybe a week? But after that it goes right back to leaking again, and will get progressively worse until i changed the o-ring again and it will be hard and blown to pieces just like the last. Ive already changed it 4 times. Its the one closest to the cab on the pump that keeps leaking. I always use the locktite and international o-rings from ford. (you know the ridiculously priced pack of 3 o-rings and locktite for 33 bucks) The only thing i don't do when i changed them is use the tool and take the line off. I can get just a open end wrench on it and take it off, clean it and put it back every time just fine. Or so i think.

Any thoughts on why i keep blowing this stupid o-ring? I run heavy equipment and have access to those expensive CAT or Komatsu Teflon o-rings and thought about using those next time to see if they lasted longer.

I don't have much done, i'm running a edge juice with attitude, air-raid intake box, the little boost tube thing from purediesel, and the boost fooler. 4in turbo back to 5in stacks. And im pulling 46s but with 5.13 gears.

It would be worth it to get a good look at the seating are inside the pump where the O-ring sits but I know it's a pain to take the pump off. I did find that you can get a clutch tool from Ford or NAPA for like 5 bucks that can remove those quick connect lines if you want to remove the fitting and check it out. You could also torque it down too if you remove the line. I think I read a post from you earlier that said you are from North Ga. I live out in Jefferson so it's good to talk to a fellow Georgian. I've got a shop I'm opening in Commerce in February and I have an extra fitting in my box if you ever need one.

Cool, i didnt know that about the clutch tool. im gonna pick one up this week and try it that way and throw a torque wrench on it and get it to spec, maybe its just human error. But i was NOT about to pay 35 bucks for that tool i see everywhere else. :tard:

Ya i'm from north ga, i posted about the rough idle and bad start. I stay with my gf in elberton most of the time but im from lavonia. Keep in touch about the shop, I might have to come hang out and keep ya company. You opening just a mechanic shop or diesel or what? Im picky about letting folks turn a wrench on my baby, but if you dont want an arm and a leg id trust a fellow powerstroker to work on it, i hardly ever have any time to work on mine so i have alot of loose ends that need fixing.
