I was given a 6.4 with blown coolers. they thought it was seized. took care of the hydro lock and coolers, however I have a mystery vacuum line that i cant figure out where it goes. It is a form fit line that will not fall to where it belongs. Line comes from the pump, then routes under the surge tank and Tees off. one goes to the pass. side and the other just wont find a home. please help!
I wish I could, I just thought that there enough guys on here that have had their own heads off that if they saw a picture of it they may be able to help you out
does anyone have a picture of there engine compartment....? possibly a good snap shot of the vacuum lines around the surge tank and where they all go. it would be greatly appreciated.
nice eric! so the line goes down. I was going the wrong way. the line with the 90 going down. can you see where it goes? you already helped alot. thank you
well the picture helped alot. i now know it routes down and not horizontally. however i stll cant figure out where it goes. the hubs are all fed off the right side and split down by the axle. i see no reason for it to go to the abs modulator....? for working on international engines this sure is making my feel pretty stupid!
The area under the battery tray doubles as a pressure tank for the vacuum system if I remember correctly. Someone had drilled it out by mistake on here, and the auto-hubs for the electronic shift on the fly system stopped working. What is the actual question at this point? Looks like they are vacuum lines for the hubs, if that helps. The vacuum pump for the system is on the drivers side, tucked in near the fender, somewhat near the brake reservoir, just outboard. Below the battery tray is the "air/vacuum tank" for the system, and the lines go to the knucles to power the hubs. Just throwing all that out there in the hopes that something was helpful. Good luck. :thumb:
