okay so today i was getting all excited on ordering my spartan and running that 275! This was until i stumbled upon a thread on powerstroke nation, on people running the 275 and 310 who are puking coolant and blowing heads. now i was not familiar with this and i thought myself as pretty knowlegable towards tuning and 6.4's. i have a job 3 and if i am correct they have slightly different head bolts than the earlier ones. now i have extended warranty so i dont want to be doing any major noticeable mods ie. egr delete, bov, etc etc.

i would like to be reliable and i thought the 275 was completly fine in this category.....am i wrong?:dunno:

It has to have something to do with the cold weather.....I've been reading on this forum since april and it's funny that the puking issue is just taking off the last month or so. :dunno:

It always worked great for me as a highway tune. The 310 tune and 56 psi of boost is what caused my truck to puke.....I also had the original 6.4 head gasket design, which is VERY VERY similar to the 6.0 head gasket design. I now have one of the latest FOMOCO design head gaskets and my coolant hasn't even budged...even in 20 degree weather on the highway and city.

You can use the 275 to drive anytime you want. It doesn't matter if it's city driving or highway. I've had it on my truck since it came out along with the 310 tune. Tuned at about 4000 miles and now have almost 30,000. I haven't had headgasket problems, but then again I do not run the crap out of my truck!!!

I never ran the crap out of my truck and during the month before it blew the headgaskets I put about 4k miles on just highway driving and saw up to 55 psi of boost while passing on the 275 and I ran it the whole time then my head gaskets blew. Like I said I didnt run the crap out of mine so for me whenever Im on a long drive again it will be on a lower tune. Thats just my personal experience

It's like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. The problem isn't the puking it's the over pressurizing of the cooling system. Somehow exhaust gasses are getting into the cooling system causing the extra pressure. Weather it be HG or EGR Cooler failure something is a matter.

My tech strongly believes that there is a direct correlation between trucks with EGR failures and HG failures. The stock trucks he's worked on all share this in common with the tuned trucks. My truck had a leak in both coolers when checked.

Never mind. I was going to say exactly that Matt :hehe:
