2006 F250 I want and a pic. I'm hesitant.

Here's the F250 LXT 4x4 I've always wanted. Its at a Ford dealership. Guy bought new, drove it for 45K miles and traded it in on a 2010 F350 PSD King Ranch just before he retired next year. He upgraded it with brand new BFG AT's just before trading in, professionally tinted windows and had a Line-X liner put on (but never hauled anything). Other than that its bone stock and cleaner than even the new ones. Condition wise, top to bottom, inside and out is the best of ANY vehicle I've ever seen. Under chassis looks assembly line clean. The engine could be used for a kitchen table. The salesman said his wife's car was even cleaner when she came by during the sales deal. It was just a "car" to him. Never worked and not a scratch.

No Oasis history of repairs at all. Pristine all the way. Anyhow its an XLT but doesn't have fog lamps, keyless key fob, nor power seats. But it does have weird options like power pedals, rear underseat fold flat rack and some other things like captain chairs and center console.

I did notice it has silver matching painted bumpers. Was that OEM? I was thinking it should have chrome but doesn't. No door keypad either. Were there various XLT trim levels? I hate it not having keyless entry key fob.

Anyhow I got them down to $27,000 even. I think its worth it and it drives and runs like brand new. I'm just hesitant because I keep reading so much about issues that cost so much....and leave you stranded...neverminding warranty or not. Start date was 8/2006 so I've got considerable engine warranty left considering miles and time.

To buy or not to buy. It isn't going to last I know. It almost sold already but the guy decided on a similar long bed that wasn't nearly as nice. He wanted long bed. I can have either.

Too much money for an xlt man, unless the market there is high on superdutys where you livee

thats a lot of money for that truck

Neil yes there are varying levels in the XLT package.

As to the price. Where are you located. Up here that truck would sell for very close to that

I agree it is a little to much asking. I bought my 05 (Lariat XLT haha) basically the same as that one, but mine had a little over 100,000. I ended up paying 20995, other then my intercooler boots, everything was clean too. I Love the 6.0, few things obviouslly, I plan on doing head studs EGR delete this summer. The truck is awesome, if you can talk him down any lower, maybe say 24,500??? Cant hurt to try, but you dont mind the price as well... Keep us informed :thumb:

There is a huge difference between that one and your truck. That one is a crew cab for one. And has less than half the miles on it.

It is priced maybe a hair high but not too far from reality for my area

Hmm..I dont know how good of a deal that really is to tell you the truth. I paid $30500 for my king ranch with 38,000 miles on it and it already had every mod in my sig except the SCT & train horns. :dunno:

I've looked at trucks like this (all brands) until I'm blue in the face it seems. :) Everything 2005 and up around here in Central IN is 24-25...and thats for trucks that have worn interiors, goofy mods, gooseneck hitches, worn tires, beds all scratched up, plastic chrome add ons everywhere etc. And all double the miles of this at least. I guessed the superb condition and OEM "ness" made it seem good to me. Its as close to new as anything on any used lot. Nonetheless...all local banks, KBB and Nada (using my zip here) say its worth 30+...so the dealer will get something close to that without doubt. I'm in no rush. But after looking online and at dealer lots endlessly...it gets old looking. :) I'd be just as happy with an 02...but to find one in superb condition is VERY difficult unless I want to drive 1000 miles to look before I buy.

This is true. They want WAY too much here in Indy for beatup trucks let alone new. I live in Indy and drove to MN to get my truck. It is an 04 and had about 89xxx miles on it when I bought it. I paid 16k for mine and for the same exact truck here it was atleast 25k when I was lookin at the time. So if you have to I would def make a drive to get one if you had too :)

Almost 3 times as many miles and NO warranty, I would pay $4500 more to have less miles and warranty for a year or so. That is just me though!

the price is high, you could easily get that truck down to the lower 20's and have it be a fair deal. I have an 04 F-350 XLT with 47K on it if you are interested. Im in Utah. Pm me is you re interested.

That would go for 27-30 In Pittsburgh.

I'm an hour west of Indy in Indiana along I70. cxrxaxz...that forth one down you listed in Knox County KY is a V10. I read "get the power of a diesel without the huge maintenence bill"...and wondered how in the world is that possible on any diesel especially a 6.0L. Then I noticed its a V10. Yes...spend your money on gasoline instead of oil and filters! haha. But thanks for the ads. I've never looked at Craigs list. I always use cars.com, autotrader.com and autorv.com. But come up short because everything I find within 100 miles of me is always in the high 20's (like this one) for the miles and condition.

I'll keep looking for a better deal. I'm pretty sure there is no way I can get this Ford dealership down to $25K. I'll tell them I'll sign the papers right now for 25 and see what I get. My feeling is zero. They were asking $29200 originally and they came down to 27.

Warranty is real important to me because I would not modify it, yet I'd take care of it to a tee and use Motorcraft filters, Mobil Delvac1 Synthetic 5W40 etc etc. I'm a BIG fluid change freak and always do better than required.

I got mine in June of 2008 and paid $13,700 eBay. Granted, its got 150,000 but they're mostly highway miles. GE owned it and I have EVERY service record. I got lucky, though. Bought it from a frustrated dealer out of Arlington, TX that had is sold a couple times on eBay but kept getting screwed. Mine is an XLT and didn't come with fog lamps or Keyless, either. I bought the OEM Fog Lamps and put them on and even bought the OEM Headlight switch w/Fog lamps. I installed a Keyless Entry, Remote Start, Alarm for around $400 because I needed Remote Start anyways. My options are kind of odd ball, too. I have the brake control in the dash, Parking Assist, and the storage shelves under the back seat but not to have Keyless Entry blew me away! I even bought the remote and tried to program it before figuring out I didn't have it. Just thought I'd share... Good luck with your hunt man!

Also there are TONS of scammers here in Indy on craigslist :( I dont know if its just as bad anywhere else but I sent emails to lots of people and ended up being scams for vehicles. Not to say you cant find a good deal on there but just letting you know BE AWARE ;)

Again prices are regional, that rig would be listed at 35g up here, and sold for about 32g
But I live in an area that diesel is king and Fords are in high demand.

or you could buy mine....

I'll even take off of what I am asking if you want to buy an extended warranty, and I'll put the stock exhaust back on it. That way, you'd have a VERY reliable truck. Stock 6.0 with headstuds shouldn't ever have any problems.

Wish I could trade body's love the look of white .

mods are easly, PIAA 410 fog lamps are the OEM upgrade and are three times brighter, remote starter is great but you should pay no more than 25000.

Bought mine last year 06 king ranch 4x4 aftermarket air intake, PIAA fog lamps, remote started, line-x, aftermarket exhaust and only 38,000 miles - $27,000 out the door.

They are asking too much, I bought a 2006 F350 SRW full 4 door with 8 foot box with 50000 kilometers in January of 09 for $26500 Canadian clean history, only thing that was replaced was a battery, it was a lease return, the guy returned it for a new f350 and was babied, keep looking, haggle and be prepared to leave dont get attached to a truck..
be patient bro took me months to find the right one

Doesn't matter now. They called me and said it sold. I knew it would. And I'm sure they got what they were asking. Thats the market around here and anywhere I could drive in a few hours. 2006 PSD's don't sell for $15000 or even $20000 anywhere near me. KBB, NADA and the banks say they are worth more than that...and thats exactly what they are selling for. More.

Its hard for me to find a nice low mileage truck that isn't beat to death and in need of about 5 expensive items right off the bat...like brakes, tires, ball joints, etc etc.

Anyhow...I can get off the fence now. It sure was hurting sitting up there anyway. :) I'll keep on lookin! :)

I think you should have confidence in yourself and your research. You have done your homework and you seem to know your market well.

The next time you find a really nice truck that you want to buy - trust your judgement.

Sometimes we get so caught up in looking for a "deal" that we miss better opportunities elsewhere as a result.

In the end, the truck you want at a fair price is the best "deal".
