Yes, I programed it like the instructions say and it blinks like it should but the door is not opening/closing, but the door works with the transmitter.
Well, it sounds like the homelink module works because it blinks, and you know the door works because the regular remote works.
It's got to be either the devices simply can't communicate, or you don't have the frequency correct. If it's dip switches that you have to set, verify you've got them right, and that your not reading the instructions backwards.
I know... not much help. But make sure you've triple checked the simple things.
I have a older opener and I tried to use homelink but could not get it to work I even left a message on thier web site in fall 08 and still never got a answer from thier tech support I guess it works with some and not others and they don't care because ford pays them and it is fords problem if you get it through ford I would not buy anything from homelink in the future
try to have it learn from the door opener head unit, if you have a rolling code garage door opener. i bought one (homelink sunvisor) from wrecking yard and followed the instructions on homelinks website and it worked fine. the homelink even learned my community gate code. could be you read the instructions wrong. if your opener has rolling code technology then you have to program the homelink from the head unit. if not rolling code, then you must program it with the remote. hope this helps.
Ya your not doing something right because it work on a old monarch garage door opener up at the cottage that is from the 70's, so keep trying it will work.
I have the homelink in all three of my vehicles and all of them work great. But I was never able to program any of them by holding the transmitter up to it ( and I tried on all three of them). It might be because I do have a rolling code garage door opener. But what I had to do was get a ladder, get up to the garage door opener itself, press the button that allows the code to be discovered (don't remember the name of the button but its pretty easy to figure out once you read them), then run real quick to the truck and start pushing the button.
