Just recently installed a sky jacker leveling kit on my early, and had the front end lined up. Drove it a couple days and torqued all the nuts and bolts again. Now i have a noise coming from the front end. The truck will make the noise sitting still turning the wheel. Sounds like a faint pop or series of small pops. I dont think its the ball joints as those were just replaced less than 5 g's ago. Hoping its just a bushing that went bad or the track bar bracket that came in the kit. The bracket has a bolt that is hard to get to to tighten because the bracket itself is in the way of getting a wrench on it. I got it as tight as possible and cant find any play in it. Just wanted to get some ideas as to where to look first and if a bushing is likely. Its an add-a-leaf kit. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance.
This may be a long shot but check out your steering gear. I would have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you laying under her and make sure something is not lining up right or something like that
Ok, little crazy, but im sure it was doing it before. Now, nothing. No noise whatsoever. I have crawled all over it and cant find anything and the noise is gone. Maybe just had to settle the leveling kit in. IDK. :dunno:
I dont know. I just replaced them with moogs and have checked that with a pry bar as well. There is no play. Also, it just started this winter after i put the leveling kit on. Im not sure what it is or was.
