Dad took his truck to the shop for some recall work. He removed his Diablo sport from the truck after getting it back the programmer display said feature not supported on this vehicle. What could cause this. He updated the programmer. Same result. HELP.
Man, I'm not sure what locking an ECM is all about, but I could see them doing something like that. They should at least give you a choice....You can keep your warranty or your ability to throw a tune on it. Either way, I'm sure they will find away around it soon enough.

I am pretty sure that DiabloSport would be able to get around it. MADS Electronics (Smarty) and H&S have been dealing with this on the 6.7 Cummins for awhile now. They get around the updates.
Well they certainly cannot go back in calibration so I do not see a fix coming from Ford. I do not think there is a ECU lock on these trucks, I feel like we would have heard something about that by now. Diablosport is who you need to contact, or go for a Spartan or SCT tuner.
I second what Rudy said. I ran a DiabloSport on my personal truck for a few months before I deleted my DPF. My truck had more problems during that time than any other time I have had the truck. Get DiabloSport to get a fix for you guys and then I would get rid of the tuner all together. Spartan, H&S, or SCT would all be great options....especially if his warranty is gone.
I ran into this problem with a Predator I had own my '05. I had the truck reflashed for cold starts and after that the Predator would not load. I contated Diablo for a new cal but the new flash on the truck was not supported. But yes call Diablo directly or we can do it for you as we are Diablo dealers and give them the cal that the programmer is reading.
I put tape over the OBDII port when my truck goes. in. I tell the manager, service writer and tech that the truck is not to be reflashed. They enter it into their computer so there is a record of it. But DO NOT REFLASH.
