I am having a hard time deciding on which air filter to go with? I am leaning toward the true flow, because I did some research and saw just how great it is. Has anyone ever tried or are currently running the true flow filter? Let me know what you think about the True Flow please. thanks:thumb:
I have true flow on all my vehicles. Intake tube is clean after 25000 miles. I bought an XDI unit for my powerstroke and it is the more restrictive than the stock with a true flow filter. It's almost like driving an old non turbo 7.3. I just returned it.
I have the AFE and have absolutely no problems with it. I run a true flow filter on my ATV and hate the thing it does not stay attached to the housing at all
I have the true flow filter in the stock air box and it works great. Saves you money being able clean and reuse. I have had it for 35,000 miles now and it still looks like new after I clean it.
I think the true flow design is better because air is being pulled straight into the intake pipe rather than having to maneuver around a pleated closed end type filter. Has anyone modified the stock powerstroke airbox in any way. I would just as soon stay with a modified stocker with a T/F filter but a mod might be worth looking into.
I havent heard much about it on this site, but TRUE FLOW is the best way to go. Oiled foam is the absolute best protection. Way better than any of those stupid cotton gauze filters that let fine particles in, and it even filters better than the stock unit which is actually a good filter. The problem with the stock filter is the restriction that takes places once it starts getting full.
True flow, you wont regret it. Less than 60 bucks delivered.
