I just got this truck a week ago and the first time it died it seemed like it ran out of fuel. I topped off both tanks and which werent empty after all. I then cranked the truck till began to run which took forever. Its been running ok but today it just died again and wont start so now I need figure out the real problem. I think it could be just sucking up trash in the fuel tank and the screen in the tank is clouging up. Its not the cps because the tach moves when it cranks.
Check your lift pump (fuel pump) located on the top of the engine valley. It usually leaks out of the weep holes when it is going out. There are some real good threads on this website on how to replace it.
Check your fuel bowl and filter. While you are in there, clean the little screen in the side of the bowl, return line, with a q-tip without the fuzzy stuff on the end. The filter may be plugged up.
i would check your IPR? or the male connector that plugs into it. I had the same problems you are speaking of. I replaced the fuel pump the week before and when mine went out it leaked. I have had to replace the IPR too. Before you replace it i would check the connector to it first. Then if its fine i would change the IPR. or get it tested to see if its bad, it might be clogged or the shaft might be worn out. Tap on the IPR while trying to start the truck and it should start. Might not run for long, but if it does it might mean you have a bad IPR.
just like last this happend if i crank it long enough it will began to start run at like 400 rpms for couple of seconds and die. The more I start it up the longer it runs.
Dark blue fuel could mean oil in the fuel. It's possible that your injector o-rings are shot.
