I need my 4.10s installed and I have already called Differential Specialties and they want $350 for the rear and $475 for the front! Does anyone know of someone that will do it cheaper than that? I have a friend that knows someone that will do it for $500 but it is in Sacramento and since I live in San Jose I would rather not drive there to have it done. Any help would be great!

I know a guy who can do it (ford mechanic) if you still need it done.

I dunno if you have already done this, as its an old thread, but i paid 450 to get my front done in my half ton (IFS).
475 for a solid front axle gear job is ridiculous. All you do is remove the steeting components and differential cover to get at the internals. On an IFS, you remove you actually have to remove the entire front axle assembly.
