Like many of you, my fuel heater soldered connections have broke loose. I've put my soldering gun to them but the solder will not stick to the little round metal disks that are attached to the mounting plate. Any ideas why they wont take solder?
I dont know what the little plate is made of, but :
1 solder will not stick to all metals
2 the metal must be hot enough
3 the metal may need to be sanded and fluxxed.
I'm pretty sure the discs are NOT metal. If they were it short out, which is how the fuse the blows. They are some kind of insulator. I just got a new one from Ford.
