There are just so many things that can aaffect performance.
Leaks at the air induction system pipeing. Useually accompanied by a whistleing noise, or a whoooing noise.
2. Anything affecting oil pressure/volume (leaks) etc.
3. Anything affecting fuel pressure/volume. (leaks) etc.
4. Electrical problems in the injection circuit wireing/FICM/PCM
5. Turbo problems
6. Exhaust problems, egr system/back pressure issues etc.

Without a little more info we would just be quessing.

Welcome to the ORG - sorry you're having issues with the rig. It could be a lot of things. Like Danny said more info would be needed without having to make a guess. :)
Let us know what the dealer say's.

Thanks ppl i will let you know what they say. I just usually have to tell the dealer what it might be for some reason. The last 2 times they acted like there was nothing wrong with my truck until i showed the teck myself about the coolant smell from the vents. I still have a clunck under the truck when i accelerate from a stop and they say its normal. I guess they dont care about warranty work trucks or there customers. Oh well thanks again.

I hope so to. The factory warranty expirred in november of this year. I do have an extended warranty on her.My truck is an 04 f250 4 door 2wheel drive with 90050.89 miles on her. This is my first ford and i havent even had her 6 months. I am the second owner, the first was the dealer i bought it from. He put 83000.00 on it then i got it. Oh well i will keep you all of you posted and thanks again for the input:thumb:

News from ford is after ide test number 4 cylinder is 12% low. They needed auth. from me to tear off valve cover and do manual test. Cost is now just shy of 1900.00 if my extended warranty doesn't cover it. I dont know what could cause that or what the worst case scenario would be. Again any input would be greatly welcome. Thanks again every one:doh::confused:

Valve cover does not need to come off to do a compression test on a 6.0 litre.

IDS Relative compression test is somewhat spotty, at best.

But it will generally point us in the direction of what cylinder to do a manual compression test on first.

I don't agree with the 12% low idea. That "could" cause a miss, but the truck should still have good power and not blow a bunch of smoke. Take your truck to someone else that knows what they are doing. It sound like this dealer is trying to take someone for a ride. I bet half of the good running trucks on the road would say 12% low on one cyl or another. I would be looking the problem somewhere else first. I have seen FICM's do some weird stuff...

OMG update

:hehe:OK about 5 hours ago i got the call. The intake valve on #4 cylinder is bent and they are going to call my extended warranty co. They said they are going to replace the whole head. Only took three weeks to find the problem. Do they use all the old valves and springs or do they just replace the whole thing?
