EGR - CEL ???

I Will be installing an EGR delete that offers a bolt on cover plate for the EGR valve. (RCD Kit)

I've read in multiple threads that purchasing a tuner which disables the EGR in the PCM would alleviate the CEL issue.

Truth be told, I'm happy with the power of my 6.0 and I'm not all that interested in a tuner.

So here's my question, Can I leave the EGR in place so that it thinks it's still working to avoid the CEL?

Will doing this allow any unwanted air to flow into the intake? I'm thinking that it won't because the uppipe will be replaced by a solid up pipe and the cooler will be removed so there is no path for exhaust gasses to enter the intake.

Appreciate those with more expertise than me offering advise.

What year is your truck? On the 05 and up you will get the CEL if you don't have a tuner to turn it off. Even if you leave the valve in it will still detect a low air flow in the EGR and throw the CEL

Since yours is an 04 it might not throw an CEL.

If you can afford it, just buy the tuner, and turn off the EGR sensor... leave the stock tune on it.
