I posted a link at the top. I could not believe it when I saw it.
Anyway, it is a complete conversion to a p pump style injector pump with new injectors and valve covers. It looks to me like the conversion eliminates the HEUI system and converts the 7.3 to deliver fuel basically like the 12 valve cummins with a p pump.
No it's legit. there are a few guys running it for sled pulling. You are basically turning you truck into a mechanical system like the dodge or old IDI Fords. with this typoe of set up you can get as big of injectors and pump as you can afford. as much power as you can build a tranny to handle.
I saw where it cost 10,500.00 which is a lot but, after all is said and done seems like you could sell your old injectors, HPOP, fuel bowl, fuel pump, valve covers and gaskets, ect. ect.
After all is said and done it would cost about the same if not less than big oil, big injectors, big turbo, custom tuning....blah blah blah. I am not trying to sell it or anything but, if the setup could push an honest reliable 400-500hp or so it would be more practical.....I guess time will tell.
At first glance it doesn't seem to be anything that would be used for daily driving or towing....would be nice if there was a less expensive version for the street...not just full race.
I don think its very streetable go on youtube and watch they run kinda rough but you can mae big power with em. Im pretty sure double overtime is runnin a similar setup
