My poorly fitting Magnaflow downpipe wore a hole through itself and the flex section of the manifold up pipe on the pass side, took it in to a reputable exhaust shop at 9am this morning, and by 3pm they only had the 2 pipes removed, hadnt even started puttin it back together yet! Woulda done it myself but don't have a garage anymore, and its freakin cold and snowy out. Just wondering how long its taken you guys to change one before.
I changed my up-pipe in the driveway in about 4 hours. Left all the exhaust intact, removed turbo, intake and passenger wheel-well. The wheel-well was the key, made the job ALOT easier, I think it was only like 5 bolts. Not a fun job, my hands looked like I put em in a meat grinder.
it can be done with everything under hood left in tact, remove the passenger side tire/wheel plastic inner fender and get a helper, could be done by a novice is 4 hours or less.
It was a 4 inch Downpipe, was on there for 3 years or so, it was rubbing big time. they pulled the inner fender out. I never even asked if they pulled the turbo off, truck was on the hoist when i stopped in.
