I have an 02 Excusion Limited. On thing I have always found strange on the car is ther is no switch to kill the interior lights with the doors or rear hatch open. Not fun if taken to one of those rare creatures called a drive-in. I was wondering if this was corrected in later models and there is a switch I can retro fit and if so does anyone have one for sale
Thanks njneerl,
I know they go off afer a while but lets say at a drive in, we open the hatch and wait for the lights to go off, great the first time but everytime someone wants to open a door or go get something then the light goes back everyone honks and flips us off!
All of the other SUV's I have owned have had a switvch to do this, I just thought that soemone here might have addresses this problem.
I can see your problem. I don't have a service manual with a wiring diagram but I am, guessing it could be done by putting a switch in the main feed (B+) wire to the interior lights........ Or more likely the LCM (light contol module) B+ feed.
Very surprised that no one has done this before......(I'll post it at Dieselstop and see if anyone overthere has done it before)
