Mr. Fuel, I found an conversation you were involved in regarding the backlash setting for a 10.25. I am going to be picking up a salvage yard 10.5 and will check the backlash prior to purchase. Could you please tell me if .005 - .008 is appropriate for this axle.

    thanks for your time.

Hey Big Fuel, hoping you can help me out again. My brother-in-laws truck has me stumped. First off it is a 97 7.3 automatic. He was driving it down the road and he said that it just died on him. He said it was like it was out of fuel. So when he called me of course I picked up a new CPS and installed with no luck. So iI told him to Call a shop and have them look at it. They installed another CPS and said it was running but by the time he got there to pick it up it stopped running and they told him it was the fuel pump and wanted to charge him $700 to put in a new pump. We had it towed to my house and installed a new pump still doesn't run. Then I swapped my IDM in it still no luck. Changed the valve cover gaskets and pig tails no luck. The truck turns over and blows out white smoke and occasionally sounds like it wants to start but never does. Oil just changed and fuel filter. No blown fuses and WTS light works. Not sure about CEL. What should I try next? Thanks Lewis

Hey I was told you have a pic floating around that breaks down what's what in the fuel system ( top side). I'm getting ready to dive into an e fuel this weekend and I'm trying figure out what lines are what on the fuel bowl/fpr and on the fuel pump.
    Thanks a ton!

hey weve talked before about my 94 powerstroke...

i was wondering could a short in the injector harness kill the idm ?

turns out the whole time ive been trying new ecm's and part after part.. i found a short in my
    injector harness..

now truck runs great for 5 to 10 miles then cuts out with a wait to start lite.. then when the lites off
    i get my power back..

    sound like an idm?

ive had my whole harness out and checked it and retaped it up so im 99% sure i got the shorts out of it..

    what do you think ..

    thanks

Thanks for the question. Diesel mechanic has been tapping under the brake cylinder/fire wall area where the PCM slips into. Hercflyer
