I've never been too good with electric stuff. Do relays either work or not work like a fuse, or can they work intermittently?

They can certainly be intermittent. You're dealing with mechanical contacts that switch power and depending on the load, how they come together, and their electrical connections (especially grounds) that they feed and supply them, they can act Very Strange :)

Normally a clicking noise is a tell tell sign that relay has a poor ground or not enough power. If a relay is in question change it out with one that you know that works like a horn relay or some thing similiar.

Yes they can be intermintent, but they are simple to check with a cheap multi meter. If you are speaking of the Glow Plug Relay, do yourself a huge favor and buy the Stancor relay, the stock relays are simply not made to handle the 200amp continous draw for 2 min that our GP system demands!!

Don't mean to butt in on your thread....tried finding one recent but not too active

STANCOR question.......frustrated

Put a STANCOR in on Friday the 6th and it threw GP codes right away. 1391 and 1393. I didn't have time to play around with it after putting it in so I left it in all weekend and it threw codes every time. Anyone else ever have this problem??? Know the fix??

Playing around with it tonight, I put the stocker back in and put both banks on a single post (like I had the STANCOR setup) and it too threw the codes. Sooooo next, I put the stock splitter plate on the stocker (so completely back to stock setup now) and it didn't through any codes. Do I need to put that stock splitter plate on the STANCOR so it doesn't throw codes?? I was going to try that next but by the end of the night I had had enough of the behemoth so I put it on the shelf and the stocker back in.

Thanks for your help and time guys
