I am now running the ID tunes, i have Extreme Street, Street and Tow. I love the way it runs and do not see me ever using caned tunes ever again. Anyway, now people are asking me how much HP it added to run the Etreme street and i dont know. Any one have any info on how much HP the ID tunes generally add. I know it will probably differ from truck to truck, im just trying to get a general idea. Thx
Wow, thats not bad. I can see that being about right, i have never rode in a truck that runs like mine does now and i know alot of folks on here can easily blow my doors off. I wonder how it will hold up if i raced a new challenger. My uncle just bought one and i know his arrogant step son will be bragging about the car, i think it would be so awsome to blow it away with a 9000lb truck.
I hope so too. My uncle wouldnt care, but his step son is 16 and thinks his dads 92 ram with a 7" tip is the badest thing on the road so im sure he will think this challenger is something. The dork told me his dads truck was badder than mine because of this exhaust tip, other than that its a stock 12valve. Anyway, thanks for the info. Im glad to know about what i should be putting down to the road.
ted is mistaken. He meant the race tune, the street tune will not put that much power down. And in most cases on a dyno the race tune will not yield that much HP either.
The extreme race has the torque converter lockup so it puts more power to the wheels, even though the tuning is almost identical to the extreme street.
Eric claims extreme race will put between 420-430rwhp and 740-790 rwtq, that is exactly what he told me when I ordered it, it will vary from truck to truck.
I dynoed mine and got 466/772. Horsepower seemed too high to me (and for a stock fuel system anyways) and torque seemed right. We did back to back and got 270hp stock, so it seemed pretty darn close. This was on a superflo dyno. Dyno's are obviously not the best way to get HP, track times and weights are more accurate IMO.
Wow thats impressive. Thank you for the info. Im trying to get my brother in law to get rid of the Hypertech and go SCT with ID tunes so maybe now that i know some numbers he will go for it.
Hey guys, I emailed Eric a while back about this and this was his response:
Thanks for contacting us.
Our SCT X3 and LiveWire are programmed with 3 of our custom programs of your choice. I will list the most common programs below. The SCT programs both the engine and transmission computers, allowing a safe and realiable way of adding power.
Xtreme Race- 420-440rwhp/760-780rwtq - Converter locked in all gears.
Xtreme Street- 420-430rwhp/730-760rwtq- Not recommended for towing.
Street- 400rwhp/670rwtq- Tow up to 10k lbs.
Tow- 310rwhp/560rwtq- Towing over 10k lbs up to the maximum of the truck.
Economy- Mileage program only.
Price of the X3 with custom tuning is $429 plus shipping. With our Xtreme Power programming, the price is $80 additional.
We need the strategy of your truck to do the programming. Most choose to have us send the unit to them, they read the strategy, call or email it to us, and we email the programs with instructions on loading them.

If you race the nephew in the Chokenger, do a boosted launch in 4HI, you will jump so far in front of him he will plant his right foot and go up in a cloud of smoke while you just drive away......Faster truck or not, old age and treachery will win everytime.....
