Been tryin to search through the threads for more info on the 10k resistor mod, and i decided to go to radio shack and get a pack. :woot:I asked for a pack of 10k resistors and he asked if i wanted a 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt pack. I was stumped.:dunno: I went with the 1/2 watt, will or will these not work in my 95? Would like to know before they close this afternoon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
just search for it on this site ive done it before on a truck at work with a 7.3 but not sure of the wattage. theres been a bunch of threads about the resistors so it cant be hard to find it. also ive heard that using a resistor with a programmer like edge it says you have in your sig. can be bad for them not sure exactly what happens, but have heard its not good
my radio shack sucks...they have the 10k and a 4.7k. only way to get a 5.6k is to buy a pack of 500 for like $13. tried the 4.7k, power cuts off after about 2,300 rpm, got the 10k, decent throttle response, but im lookin for a resistor somewhere in between. thanks for the info guys.
Two 10K resistors in parallel == 5K. Add a 560 or 680 ohm (not K-ohm) in series to the parallel pair you just built and you will be close enough to 5.6k that whatever difference there is will be negligable.
Has anyone seen high egts with just resistors? I dont have gauges but wanting to do this. Wouldn't be running the ole girl WOT either.
Decided I'll just keep things the way they are.
