anyone know the difference between 03-04.5 to 04.5-07 HPOP

anyone know the difference between the 03-04.5 HPOP to the 04.5-07 HPOP pumps?

The covers and outlets are completely diffenent. The early pumps are alot weaker then the later pump. If you converted the cover and stand pipes it would work, but that is a lot of work.
Not 100% but i think one is a piston pump and one is a gear pump.

Bob Riley himself from Dieselsite told me that the 05 and up pumps will put out less oil than their earlier counterparts. The newer style are also more reliable than the earlier pumps. With the exception of the STC fitting troubles, he said he's never seen a newer pump itself fail. There was a design flaw with the earlier pumps, something to do with the way the gear was threaded on to the shaft IIRC. The earlier pumps do provide more HPO, but are more prone to failure is what I took from our conversation this past spring. If you really want to know more give him a call. He's a good guy with a wealth of knowledge I'm sure he'd be happy to share if he has the time to talk.

the 03-04.5 are a swash plate style and the later are a piston pump. and you would basically have to swap everything over to make it work
