best of my knowlege, no a blocked heater core or lines will not cause your truck to overheat because it isnt in the main loop of your coolant system. What year is your truck, anything done to it? Theres plenty of really good techs on here that could help you out. Biggest thing around here or on these trucks that would cause you to overheat is due to the head studs streaching and blowing the headgasket... im sure someone will chime in. Good luck man.
oooo is the truck smoking or anything of that nature.. that would be a good place to start. If thats the case your probably looking at a head gasket issue. Other possabilities too look at, water pump or thermostat...
i think it is the water pump because the water is not circulating, but i cant figure out how to get the damn fan and clutch off.somebody please help me,thanks.
It probably is your water pump. I just had the same exact issue you are having, my water pump wasn't circulating. The impellars are made of plastic!! Mine seperated right from the shaft.
