Ok so I got the housing for the fuel filter off and something is bothering me. A metal line from the FPR just feel right off out of the bottom of it and stayed connected to the housing. Im replacing all o-rings I can find but want to know what that metal line is for or if it should just slide out. Also want to know if someone thinks my fuel pump might be leaking. I couldnt see any leaks but Im not the best at finding leaks anyway. Here are pictures of the line, fuel pump, and fpr. Well I think thats what they all are.

Ok so I started cleaning all the grim out of the Valley and this was sticking out from under the Fuel pump and so I pulled it (without unbolting the pump) and it came right out. Is this some sort of o-ring or seal for the pump? I have not pulled the pump yet!

Y'know what that rubber thing looks like... just a shot in the dark here, but it looks like what seals your oil filler tube to the valve cover. I had to replace mine and it looked like that. Just a thought... :dunno:

Hey tsteel,

If I were you, I'd replace that fuel pump while you have the top half of that motor apart already, just in case it starts leaking.

When I replaced my fuel filter housing, I had replaced the fuel pump (partly because it was sooo easy to access while I was replacing the filter housing and partly because it had developed a small leak that was detected once the filter housing was removed)

Good Luck! :thumb:

Blue,

I think Im going to go ahead and throw a pump on it just to be safe! Also new o-rings in the housing and new rubber lines and clamps. The main concern is the FPR line that goes in the bottom of it looks like it was seeping just a bit. If you look in the picture its got alot of gunk bellow the lip and it also just fell right out of the fpr. So just curious if there is supposed to be some sort of seal there?

Thanks for any info!:thumb:
