'06 F-250, 77k miles, stock apart from coolant filter added.

On my way to a buddy's house tonight, I noticed there was a chatter-like sound when engine RPM was between 1700-1900ish RPM. Rev higher, it goes away - rev lower, it goes away.

She was recently in the shop for the leaking EGR cooler debacle. Apparently the last dealer didn't fix it right. Heh.

Not sure if it's related, but this morning, she died as I was rolling up to an intersection... just shut down. Power off, back on, cracked+started and all seemed good.

Thanks all,

- d.

I'll call it rough idle only if you call 1700-1900 rpm's "idle." :)

I'd say rough running, 'cept the engine doesn't actually run rough, just makes a chattering sound.

Edited: She runs rough, but it's barely noticeable. It's not just sound only. I'm guessing it's an injector issue. Guess I'll take 'er to the shop in the morning. Fun times.

Mine is doing a simular thing, It's a little rough at idle but when the trans is in the upper gears and the rpm's are 1600-1900 the engine feels like it wants to jump out of the truck. It started when i ran low on fuel so I tried replacing the filters with no change. I need some help. 2003 6.0 stock with 150000 miles and no other issues yoe, it was re-flashed last winter for the updated cold weather starting problem.

For what it's worth, I dropped her off at the dealer last Thursday. They came back saying it's a snap-to-click fitting (I don't know if it's the HPOP one).

Ideally, I'll get her back today (Tuesday), sigh.

Sure enough, TSB 08-18-6. STC Fitting. On the bright side, it was still under warranty, and it appears that somewhere along the line the $100 deductible was waived.

I'm happy.

Thanks for the (moral) support, Adam. :)
