New injectors, lots of smoke...

...ok so I had a few bad injectors, decided to replace all of them. got new harness as well, new glow plugs too. did everything as stated in DIY! purged the oil thru the glow plug holes. it started fine after few cranks, smoked a lot but I thought it would be normal. didnt run it for long cause I couldnt work around all that smoke. so I restarted it later and let it run thinking it would clear. then it started to knock again like when it had the injectors bad before but this time louder. so I thought it prolly got air in the fuel and oil lines, give it some gas for a bit and it clear it out but then it shut down and couldnt restart it for a bit. I can restart it but it takes a couple tries and it still smokes. it looks like a white smoke. what could it be?
I do have a few oil leaks, one is by the dipstick the o-ring is bad and other is by the valve cover breather I guess I didnt put it back right or sumtin. oil pan might be leaking a bit but that could be from before cause it looks wet around the bottom of the block.

engine is a INT navistar 175HP and it uses a mechanical lift pump located in belly pan if that matters! everything else seems the same!

im gonna fix those leaks and then try to see what it does. when we where looking at it last night if you give it a full gas ad idle it would spit a lot of oil thru the valve cover breather (just a dump hose to the bottom like a school bus), is that normal? also it would spit a black oil as a old oil that hasnt been changed but I changed it and if I check the level on dipstick the oil is clean! kinda weird!
thanks a lot

wow big problems. have you check your crankcase vent? Make sure that's all flowing free and its connected to the intake side. The oil dumping out is not normal.
when you replaced your injectors did you put all new o-rings and seals on all of them?

When you installed the injectors did you drain the rails out? then take out the injectors and sucks out any additional oil in the holes?

Sounds a little weird that it would have started up that fast after an injector change out. mine took like 15 min. just to get the high pressure rails filled back up and build up pressure. Just talking out loud.

well from the looks of it rings are bad. on the internation navistar crankcase breather is routed to atmosphere, straight down to bottom. it blows a lot of oil, so I know something is not good.
yes I did everything as it was supposed too, i just think this truck had problems from before I even got it cause it felt like it didnt had the power it should or the other trucks in terminal! I wasnt sure why the guy wanted to get rid of it, guess I know now. I havea a spare engine pulled out of a trashed truck that ran good when we pulled it. im gonna swap it and see what happens.

after I did the injectors my dome light and cargo light started working again. not sure why but they work now, atleast there is something fixed! ha
