I am picking up a new (to me) 02 Dually this weekend. I am wanting to put gauges and exhaust on it. Does anyone know of anywhere in the Dallas area to get the exhaust and gauges and get them installed?

I don't but there is alot of Texas members who probobly can help you out. If I was you I would talk to the vendors who support this site buy from them have them ship it to you and then find a buddy or another member on the forum to help you install them. Or find a garage who can install them for you! Just my 2 cents:)

I would prefer to buy from a supporting vendor, but I don't know anyone to help with the install or anyone in the area to do it for me.

I know the guy I am getting it from so i am getting a very good deal on the truck. It is a 4x4 Lariat package. I would like to have the pillar gauges to match the gray interior.

Who to get it from and what to get in the form of gauges and exhaust.

thanks for the advice and the welcome

Welcome to Powerstroke.org! Thanks for helping support the site as well. :)
Any of our site sponsors will give you the best deals around and I'd love to help you install 'em but I'm down in Houston.

Personally I'd do it myself, unless you're physically disabled. They're not that difficult with minor mechanical/wiring skills.

I'm only 20 and people say that I have that 'i can do anything/diy' attitude because I'm young but this is not entirely correct, I was hit by a car while walking 3 or 4 years ago and run over and I now have back problems. That being said, it's fun IMO and a good reason to mod the psd w/ a few friends is a weekend to look forward to IMO.

A full set of gauges will run you about 350, and the exhaust will depend upon the steel quality you get. Aluminized is below stock quality, T409 is about the same as the stock stainless steel, and T304 is the best and likely to outlast your truck. Since you probably never come in contact w/ salt the T409 will be more then enough to last you a looong time.

I would buy the 3 gauge pod with EGT guage, Tranny temp, and Boost. I would stick with a 4inch exhaust turbo back. I would say stick with a good quality exhaust like mbrp, silverline, or talk to Gus from Farmboysdiesel he has a budget exhaust that would work for you. The reason I say stick with a good quality exhaust is for fitment issues and you want it to last more then a year or two.

Get a 40# boost gauge and the drill and tap weather pack connections. You will need to buy paint to match your interior color because the piller pod comes black. Comes with everything you need except for the paint and the drill bits and tap for the exhaust manifold.

A 40 psi boost gauge for a 7.3L?

If you having trouble deciding call us or one of the other fine supporters of this site.

You may want to consider a Quadzilla Commander for gauges. The install will be a little bit easier, and it takes up less space than a pillar pod. We carry many brands of exhaust, but these guys are correct. A couple extra bucks now will save you a lot of heartache later. We mostly sell MBRP. Always call for best prices.

Welcome to the fastest growing Powerstroke site on the net!

Hey Patrick I going to go down this road and assume you are questioning why to go with a 40# boost gauge! And please if you think Im giving bad advise please elaborate because Im learning and trying to give good advice here thats what these forums are about. So here is my reasoning! The 40 # boost guage is the same price as the 30 cost's you no more. I know that the chances of a stock turbo pushing more than 30 psi probobly won't happen, and you shouldnt run over 25 pounds to be safe, but I don't know what his intentions are for the future so why woudnt you I guess so thats my question. Thanks

Yes, I was just asking. a 30 psi gauge would make it easier to read the differance between 22 23 24 25 psi. It takes alot of money to surpass the 30 psi mark on a 7.3l. You are correct, the price is the same for the gauge, and it really doesnt matter. I'm just releaved you didnt come back and say "My 2000 F-250 with a Hypertech programmer, K&N drop in filter, Banks monster Exhaust 6" tip, and chrome mudflap weights hits 35 psi all day!" LMAO

Personally I would go with a Quadzilla Commander. Atleast then you can set yourself alarms to warn you when things are getting out of spec.

HaHa no Im not going to intentionally BS anyone! I was being sincere if I was giving bad advice please let me know:) I just wasnt sure with the way you wrote your comment. And yes I forgot to mention the digital readouts as they would be a nice tool to have, but in the end for my personal preference I went with the analog gauges! Lots of choices to make, but thats part of the process keep asking questions until you feel comfortable with what you want Tx02.
