Do not need title notorized but...

You do not need the actual title notorized but I strongly suggest having a notorized BOS so you do not get hammered with any type of taxes. also it is a great document to have for insurance purposes to prove you purchased from other person. All went well have my title back this week already! just having HUGE issues with inspection, since different interior (leather 2006 lariet) no power seat adjustment was used when they installed just bolted it in have to custom make spmething, rims and tire are not original size even though they do nopt stick out past fenders or body they are not inspecting it, no muffler eventhough i have an exhasut system that runs back past the rear tires (stock into 4" into 5" big rig type pipe, and a plethera of other misc items

Yes I know i use to have one but moved to texas

Yes, i use to know a guy in Laurel md but he moved to texas and been trying to find another opne. not necesarily shady but someone reasonable who is worried about actual safety issues and not if not if my seat moves forward, it fits me just right and NOBODY is driving my truck except my son and he is my size.

When I got my truck from VA, I only needed the signed title.

MVA website

Quote:
Whether the vehicle is being purchased from within Maryland or out-of-state, the procedure is the same to transfer ownership to you.
Quote:
An MVA “Bill of Sale”
•A notarized MVA Bill of Sale is needed if the sale price is less than the vehicle’s book value and the vehicle is 7 years old or newer. Please call the MVA’s Customer Service Center at 1-410-768-7000 to verify the vehicle’s book value.
•If a notarized “Bill of Sale” is not presented and the purchase price of the vehicle is within $500 of the retail value as shown in the National Publication of Used Car Values, MVA will accept the purchase price as completed on the title.
•An excise tax will be charged on the basis of 6% of the vehicle’s book value or 6% of the purchase price on the notarized “Bill of Sale” for vehicles 7 years old or newer. For older vehicles, the tax is calculated on the purchase price. Maryland’s minimum excise tax charged is $38.40, based on a minimum value of $640.
