For those uninformed: New Maryland gun laws/bans...

I had a few people PM me on a comment I posted towards TerryKnight. He was asking about the new current MD gun laws. Here is information from other sites.

Here is the official Senate Bill that was passed.

I attached a laymen's terms version.. Is an easier read, but too long to post here. Its in PDF format.

I never was heavily interested in guns until that law was passed, I have always had too many hobbies that tied up my extra money.

As far as I know you can still buy a heavy barrel AR because it doesn't have a flash suppressor and you can't put a bayonet on it. Once you have that... I'll leave the rest up to you. It's also not illegal to possess a 30 round mag, you just can't buy or sell it here. Go to a gun show in free America and buy all the 30 rounders you want and bring them back.

You can also still buy an 80% complete blank lower receiver because it's not a gun according to federal law. It would be illegal for you to finish milling it and make it operational in Maryland, but if you did there's really no way for anyone to know you didn't do it before Oct. 1st since it won't have serial numbers or any way to trace its origin. This really isn't hard to do.

I bought two serial numbered stripped lowers at a gun show in Texas a few years ago and built them from there. After I figured out that I could get non serial numbered 80% lowers in the mail I decided to go that route. I'll probably never own another serial numbered rifle.
