Meet n Greet/Wrenching?

Anyone up for a meet and greet relatively soon?

If anyone was following my thread, Diagnose this sound I could use a second set of eyes, ears and possible wrenching, and it might be a good time to get another meet up.

Any takers? Martin? Ditty? Matt? Steve? Anyone else locally that wants to get in on it? I'm thinking a Saturday would be good for me, anytime.. preferably a little earlier than later.

Anyplace specific? I'm thinking the usual meet up spot, Martin will know the answer to that.

Well I'll be in Virginia beach Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. August 29th - September 1st.

September 1st is a truck pull and my friend wanted me to pull his truck but I think VA beach will be more attractive LOL.

September 8th is the buck, you could come over before and we could check the truck out.

I need to have a get together here soon too because I need to do all of this before I leave for SC to get my tranny.

-Grind bed bolts off
-Remove bed
-Remove bed bolts
-Install gooseneck
-Cut hole in bed for gooseneck
-Reinstall bed

I also need to pull that bed dent out which should be simple enough and put on a new tailgate. I ALSO need to get that bracket pulled off, and my cab lights installed.


My truck might be a part of a complete tranny buildup for a website and I want my truck lookin RIGHT you know LOL...

Early in the day Sept 8 sounds good to me either way.. then Buck in the evening? Sounds like a good time if we can get a few people to come!

September is going to be crazy busy for me, but I might be able to squeeze something in. 9/1 is one of my tractor pulls and 9/8 I will be in Richmond for the race. It looks like I might be available 9/15 & 9/22 unless something comes up at work.

By the way Marty, why are you removing your bed to install a gooseneck hitch? I installed a B&W on my truck by myself with nothing more than the spare tire removed.

I'm going to be away the weekend of 9/15 I do know that.. but 9/8 I'm good, heading to the Buck afterwards sounds like a fun time in itself as well.

I desperately want to catch up with you guys, but with my tractor pull commitments, my son's football, work and camping at a couple of Nascar races a year it never seems to work out.

Maybe some time this winter when things are real slow we can take full advantage of my heated shop!

I would come help, but I think the wifey has us committed to a party that afternoon then a crabfest that night on the 8th.

I work this week, WED night through Sun Morning. Next weekend the g/f and I were thinking of going to Ocean Beach (Friday through Monday)...though I might be able to pull off going to the Buck. We'll see.

Matt, my truck isn't as new as yours and I've already tried taking out bed bolts to no avail. I need to lift my bed with the GN hitch that I have so thats why I was going to remove the bed. How much was your BW hitch?
