Bellowed up-pipes dont work
Nuff said. They're junk.
Probably going back to the donuts tomorrow. Leaking up pipes are 1000 times better than up pipes that warp your turbo. |

What happened?

The flange at the back of turbo sits about 1/8 inch too low. When you loosen the up-pipe to manifold bolts, you can get the connection on the back of the turbo. However, when you tighten the bolts back down at the manifold, it pulls on the back of the turbo enough that the compressor wheel contacts the compressor housing.

Suck to hear that Gene, as I don't not much about 7.3s, here is a morning
for ya.

Any luck with the up-pipes Gene?

Nope. Still down. I can find no problems with the bellowed up pipes. I am starting to think the turbo may be the problem.
To add to the fun, my Glow Plug Relay went out. It was 4 days out of warranty. Napa says they will cover it, anyway. However, it came out in two pieces, so I am not sure.

Really??? Well that just sucks. You think you might have to replace the turbo?
Just think of it this way Gene, your relay is like what $60 at the most? My glow plug module runs around $140-$150 at least. |

Pefect time to upgrade the turbo
I assume my up pipes are probably leaking with 100k on them almost but I plan on just getting the H2E kit with new up-pipes. |

I thought about that, but $75 to rebuild the turbo is a little easier to swallow that $1600 for a ball bearing turbo.
Especially after paying for the bellowed. NAPA came through and replaced the GPR
