I was hoping to gather some intel on trusted diesel shops around the DFW area, bonus if they have 6.0 experts employed.
Can anyone recommend a shop? It could be from routine maintenance to a full bulletproofing.
My company sent me to Germany back in February, and it looks like I might be here until the end of the year except for a few trips back to the great state of Texas between now and then. Since I was leaving, I left my truck in what I thought were the capable hands of a coworker... Until he called me last week and told me that the truck wouldn't start. I'm not sure what happened, but I had the truck towed to FSS Diesel in Dallas. FSS ran a diagnostic on the truck and said they found low battery voltage and four bad injectors. They also have sent me a estimate for a majority of the bulletproofing needed minus the things I've already done. So far I like the customer service I've had with them, but one thing worries me...
They quoted me the replacement of the oil cooler, but said they would put Ford Gold coolant back in it... I told them absolutely not, that I wanted either Fleetrite or Caterpillar ELC put back in it, and that the reason the oil cooler fails in the first place was because of the Ford Gold coolant. They said no problem, they would put the ELC in it... Shouldn't they have already known that?

Does anyone have any advice? I'm not sure that I'm ready to sink another $6,000 (this estimate minus upgrades I've already done) into my truck, and maybe my bout with the 6.0 is over. I really don't want to get rid of my truck, I love it, especially since I got it back after it was stolen. Should I just have the injectors done and call it a day? I just figured since they will be digging deep to do the injectors, maybe it's the best time to bite the bullet and bulletproof it.
I know this was a bit of a novel, sorry about that. I just wanted to provide as much detail as possible. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated, and I think it would benefit other members of the .org in and around the DFW area to know where members have had good and bad experiences with shops.
