This date seemed good, and the general consensus was we do this with about a two week notice.

OK Update for anyone that's just tuning in...

Details for the Down Souf GTG!

The beach idea has evolved to something better thanks to Clintd, he has graciously offered a lease/ranch/big chunk of land with some nice amenities to hold a get together. So looks like Saturday Oct. 23rd we will meet up and head over to Alice Texas and continue in true manly activities, such as.... eating some grub, partaking in the sweet nectar of the gods (adult beverages), shooting skeet, telling tall tells about everything from trucks to hunting... to god knows what else.... note that these are in no particular order and may happen many times throughout this ordeal. You can tent camp or there is a road to the back of the hotel from the property if you wish to stay in the hotel. He has stated that he will be out there Saturday and Sunday. So if you wanna come sniff diesel fumes, drink, eat, BS, and god knows what else this is it! Just from what I've heard I think this will be a pretty damn good weekend. Now if some of you want to go put your toes in the sand at the beach we can make a side trip or whatever. So G2G is still on, just change of venue... err location.

sounds awesome! i think the camping on the beach will be great, like you said it will allow people to have some drinks and not worry about driving home and it will be a good time to just chill and get to know some of the members of the org. cant wait! let me know if i can do anything to help.

Only thing I might get people to do is have everyone bring some fire wood so we can have a decent fire for the night. There is a size limit on the fire so I don' t plan on building a huge fire. But a decent kick fire (fire big enough to sit around and BS). Not trying to signal satellites in orbit.

But it's cool, because one of our other friends from Amarillo is 6'10" and his is Jolly G.G., Tree, bigfoot, etc..
