im not saying that there arent fast diesel trucks out there. i know there are. i just like the mentality some people have about how a stock 7000lb truck on studded snow tires is going to beat a 3000lb car on slicks and skinnies.

It's all about torque. The majority of supercharged 32v sportscars can smoke a mild-to-intermediately modified diesel. But the power-to-ground of a heavily modified diesel would destroy a Cobra----while getting better efficiency. Not to mention, for the people who live in the northeast, north, & northwest, a rear-wheel drive sportscar of any type is useless compared to a 400+hp 4x4 truck. You can haul azz on summer days, & in the snow. I used to be like you & idolize 'Stangs(my dad had an '03 Terminator, & I had a '99 GT), but for 1. they have only one function 2. they get destroyed easily by road debris & other a-holes that don't respect other people's property 3. I'm absolutely sick of seeing Mustangs---everyone & their grandparents have one.

i agree with you for the practicality, im selling my mustang to buy a powerstroke, so we're on the same page. i dont idolize stangs either, ide go far enough to say i hate any stang other than the 79-93's and 94-95 cobras. all im saying is its amusing when you pull into a cruise spot in a 10 second car and have kids talking **** to you in a junk cummins with nothing but a smoke stack made out of flex pipe coming out of the bed.

i wasnt referring to the OP, just some of the comments, like someone said "well maybe if the guy cant drive and burns through 6 gears you'll win..." what would that matter if he did? the cobra is still way faster, the driver just needs to spend less money on a car and more on driving lessons.
