They didn't. All cobras, even earlier models were manuals only. However, a lot of guys swap autos into terminators for drag racing purposes.

at the store I used to work at there was a guy who had a blue terminator. He swapped an auto in it for drag racing. He was runnin fats and skinnies on it. It had a KB blower some other stuff I can't recall and some NOS! He said it ran a best of 9.89 and he's usually in the 10's. That thing was SICK!!!

what is it with diesel guys and thinking their trucks can beat drag cars? i used to have kids talk **** to me in my fox all the time in hammered 7.3 crewcab longbed pickups and rusted out cummins... its really funny. even if you beat it, all it proves is you can plant your foot and that the mustang driver has no clue what he's doing. i dont mean to sound like a dick but its true. terminators are no joke, throw the blower in the garbage, put a snail on it and swap out a solid rear axle and you've got a serious street killer.

.....that makes no sense; "even if you beat it, all it proves is you can plant your foot"......um......................HUH!?!?!? Anyone who races is planting their foot. Car, truck, street, strip. Stop trying to sound like you're writing an article for a hot rod mag..............you butthole bandit!
