Just to preface, I'm driving an '06 F-250 with an exhaust and SCT running Eric's Extreme Race Tune.

So I'm cruising along last night and a new Dodge Magnum SRT8 pulls up next to me and as we're pulling away from a stop light he nails it.... I don't give chase as he's instantly GONE. The next light I tell him I'll give a try and see how I keep up this time. He agrees. I've never attempted to launch this thing and left with way too much wheelspin. Once I got her hooked up I actually stayed with him pretty decent. From a dead stop up to maybe 85 or so he gapped me by maybe about 4 lengths? I knew I didn't stand a chance and just wanted to see how close I could keep it.

At the following light the dude waits for me and is giving me a big out the window. I pull up, compliment his ride (the thing had some sort of exhaust and sounded incredible) and he tells me that my rig is the fastest Diesel he has raced. He said it shocked him how close I kept it.

Not a kill but fun nonetheless....

If you would have boosted and launched in 4x4 you would have pulled on him so hard out the hole, but by about 60 or 65 he would have started to reel you in, good race

1. Make durn sure the law isnt lookin.
2. Flip the knob over to "4 hi"
3. while applying the proper pressure to the brakes, run up the idle till you hear the turbo start to spool well, and feel yer truck "Pull" Against your brake pressure.
4. when prompted, simultaneously let the brake pedal go and mash the accelerator.
5. keep control, hang on, and feel the rush.

Simplicity itself.

yeah next time launch it!! I dont think the law would care as long as you launch and dont end up over the speed limit

are you kidding me? Were you roaling coal a bunch or smoking the tires or what??? I am constantly on my truck off of stop signs and lights and never heard a word!! but right now my truck doesnt smoke, and i dont spin the tires

Around here it's called "Exhibition of Speed". Don't ask me how I know... Typically it takes spinning the tires to get that one but it's kind of up to the officer to decide if you're showing off or not. Luckily, in our trucks I think we're some of the last people they look for when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Keep in mind if that "Exhibition of Speed" takes place next to another vehicle who is also "Exhibiting Speed" and attempting to "Exhibit" said speed better than you are then it's called "Illegal Speed Contest" also!

Best bet is always to make sure the fuzz isn't around....

Dang lol i never realized they had all these rules!! But i live in Oregon and i dont know of many people around that are big into diesels and care about them like the guys on this .org
