I freakin killed an 08 dmax, twice. Lined up, he got a jump on me, by 2nd gear i was even, then we slowed down, he was a few lengths behind, hammered it, i hammered it when he got even with my rear bumper, and he never made it past the cab.

Not against a dmax, but i did against an 06 cummins. Both were pulling about 8k. TW tow tune, we were dead even til i hit about 90 when the the truck begins to defuel for the speed limiter.

well this is an older thread but i wanted to comment..
yes the Duramax is fast in stock form and with a lil tuning it can be insane but it has a few down falls as well..the stock 5SP Ally doesnt like alot of extra HP but the 6SP Ally doesnt seem to mind 450-500HP..i have seen quite a few newer Duramaxs with tuning only and a few drivetrain upgrades run mid 12's then shoot a lil juice and hit low low 12's and thats on a CC SB truck..
in the end i wont bash the PowerStroke,we have a few ofem and they have been a great truck for us..

Freakin 6.4 with a little juice and tuner hit low 12's . I just find it crazy how all these trucks just keep getting faster and faster. Buddy of mine loves his dmax, and i did too, till the tranny blew. But i got respect for all diesel trucks!!

Ive raced 2 d-maxs, one that i dint know anythig about pulled up next to me at a light, i wasnt paying attention and he boosted 4x4 launched on me, i caught back up when my tires regained there relationship with asphalt(had to peddle it 3 times!!) then stuck side by side up to 80mph in a 30 in the middle of town. Decided i should let off. couldn't see anything behind us!!! locked her into 4x4 and boosted at the next light and he pooss'd out. musta been scur'd.
other race was against my buddys 05 with bully dog on crazy larry, i didnt pull hard on him but he never got ahead of me.

My buddies truck runs ran a best of 12.42 in his duramax with Tunes only his is an 06. EFI live tuned he consitantly runs 12.46's
