Dirty Corvette

I was heading out of town last week and a guy in his mid-life crisis driving a newer Corvette came racing up through traffic and stopped by me at the light. He was revving his engine a bunch, not necessarily directed at me, but when the light turned green I put Matt's Hybrid Race tune to work. I jumped about 1/2 car length ahead of him off the line and he slowly came back, caught me at around 50mph and continued to slowly creep away. I let off because it goes to single lane pretty quickly, but I'm pretty sure he got more than he expected. Probably had to wash the soot off the side of his car when he got home too
Next time maybe I'll go for a boosted launch, but with 4.30s and a TruTrac I had to get out of it twice because it was starting to break loose, so that might just make things worse. I guess 4wd is an option...

What's your truck run in the 1/4? Even the base Vettes are nasty and would give a sprayed Spartan tuned 6.4 a SERIOUS run.

I have no idea what my 1/4 times are, never tried. I'm sure in the 1/4 he would have killed me, the torque and lower gears just helped out a lot in the first 60 feet.

Wonder what a vette with a cam, throttle body, tune etc... thought when an 8,000 truck ran him down at the track after a ****ty launch (broke a sprag in the converter)? I got the video to prove it.


I believe the story... a stock vette with someone that was caught a lil offguard would be easy pickin's....
