The Day I fell in Love.

As I mentioned in my signature, this is my first Diesel and my first Ford. I was a Chevy man all the way but after 3 truck with tranny problems, it was time to make a change and good God almighty. Check this out. One car that I fell in love with was the 1996 chevy impala. You know the one with the LS1 motor, 700r4 tranny, and 3.73s in it. Man that thing has kicked a lot of azz for a big car and I loved everything about it. That is until I was on my way home from the honey comb hide out. Note, We had just installed the SCT Programmer and I had it on Looney tune. I pulled up to the light and right beside me, a 96 impala pulls up beside me. I didn't see him but a heard a monster rev up. I was like is that right? I put it in 4, stalled it up and just wanted to see how long it would be before he flew by me. Light turned Green and I must have jumped 2 trucks. My fat girl shifted and pulled another truck it seemed and from there every shift was another length or so. Now I was all stock with the exception of the program and I was loving that black smoke. He pulled in the gas station behind me and swore up and down I sprayed him. I just smiled and Proposed to my fat girl. I am a fool in love!

The impala was never available with an LS1, it had a 350 LT1. Still a sweet ride, ran mid to high 15's in the quarter. Only rated at 260HP stock.
