the planed race is with my dads 01 duramax w/ a hypertech programmer. he is a life long cheby lover, and i strayed from the family roots when i purchased my first ford and have since owned many the latest being a 01 powerstroke. i have drove his duramax plenty of times and know he dosnt have a chance. but what he dosnt know is what the ol powerstroke is packin

With just a hypertech he's probably pushin around 375hp. I don't know your bed/cab configs *so I don't know the weights* but IF I was betting on this race and you both had the same setup w/ a hypertech, my bet would be on the chevy.

As for your signature "theres no replacement for displacement" the answer to that is "yes there is, technology."

ah yes weight..... well the ol man has a supercab w/ a 1500 lb flat bed plus all those GM diognostic tools (big hammers and such) he has to carry around hehe. im runnin a crew cab short box. the only mod he has is the hypertech. i figure w/ the edge system, exhaust, intake, tranny mods, and more smoke and a few of those high horse power stickers on the tool box i got him beat

but on the other hand i may get schooled. i like to think positive tho. all else fails ill break out the old ford w/ the cobra jet

If he weighs more then you (will be close) then I think you may keep up.

You're porbably pushing around 290hp while he's probably around 375.
