It manages the torque. Supposedly saves the tranny. If it senses to much power defuels or depowers the motor so it can shift normal.

The use of Torque management began in 1996 with the introduction of the Vortec V8's. Torque management retards timing from: a deap stop, when accelerating with heavy throttle, and just before ALL trans shifts. GM introduced TM in an effort to reduce drivetrain related warranties.

So basically takes their advertised HP and throws it out the window. So you are left with less power.

Its not really from a dead stop but it doesnt give you less power just at the shift points so you fly threw 1st then it feels like it falls on its face for a second the it picks right back up and flys threw 2nd then so on threw all the gears

Could torque management be the reason my brothers 03 with a 6.0 g******* couldn't do a burnout?
