Cum a part? are you kidding me? Itll be a cold day in hell when a PSD or DMax can hold 1000+ on stock internals...

Nice kill. Not all Dodges (or any diesel for that matter) with loud exhaust are fast. Ill give respect because it was a Duramax that did the walking, and we all know those can be pretty bad too.

If it was a PSD claiming, Id wave BS

(hopefully the SLIGHT bit of sarcasm can be felt here Im just givin yall chit)
the only stock internals that any 1000+HP Cummins mite have is a crank but the pistons, rods and heads have all been changed by the time they hit that kinda HP..regardles if they keep a few stock internals most will switch to better parts since if one piece fails it can easily ruin the rest of the engine..
there are Duramax's running 700HP on all stock motor and even stock head studds but for how long same with the Cummins.most will upgrade since they know its gonna go its a matter how long.

i agree the exhaust note doesn't bear much affect on speed of a Diesel although the louder the whistle the faster it should be

Lets see, Maddogs been at 1000+ for YEARS, fuel only, and as far as I know, hes on stock internals. Now has he ever torn into it, I dunno. Theyll last, lots of guys have been doing it for years.

And I wont buy a FORD, regardless of engine, because of how big a piece of crap the truck is. Every Ford Ive ever been around, except my Dads 88 250, has been falling apart. That arguements never held any water for me...

I bought Dodge cause 1) Im a Dodge guy 2) Cummins and 3) I feel the truck will last longer than the others. Ive beat the pee out of my 03, never so much as a problem. My buddies old Ford, well actually it didnt run long enough for him to drive it so it actually held together fairly well. It was basically in heated storage most of its life living in the shop, looked brand new when it was 3 (it ended up catching fire and burned. Thats quality right there )

Ok... I am making this post with very little bias for eithe side.
I worked in a truck shop for the good part of a year and as far a reliability stock vs. stock I saw countless dodges with injection problems and overheating problems. In complete honesty I do think that ford has dodge beat as far as reliability. The only ford that really had a problem was one 6.0 with blown head gaskets. On the subject of duramax i only remember was one that came in and it was towed in because hey decided to run it with no coolant. keep in mind this is a truck shop that has room for almost 20 trucks and almost every single bay was filled with dodges and most of the lot was full as well. Yes most of the problems were small but either way they were in the shop and not out on the road doing what they are intended for.

And for those of you who want to say that im just bashing on dodges because im a ford guy that is not true. I really do like dodges and almost bought an 06' megacab dually 4x4 6spd but i got my black ruck for a hell of a lot cheeper and it was overall a bette deal.

what he said,I have seen so many dodges with problems i cant even count that high,my dad has 3 cummins,1 is a 12 valve ,the other two are 03 and 05.The 12v is always being worked on yea it is usually minor but still is always being worked on and leaks just about as much oil as you are putting in it.the other has two have had lots of injector problems so i am another that do not think the cummins is all that.by the way my 7.3 almost never needs worked on (knock on wood)and drips no oil from anywere.
