I have a Mustang GT and it is fast I also had a CBR RR. Which are fast without modding and everybody has em. It is a fun chalenge to see what you can get a huge truck to do. |

Simple fact is alot of people enjoy competing with their trucks against other diesels, whether it be sled pulling, drag racing, dyno competitions, etc. I love my 6.0 and the truck wrapped around it, but when it comes to serious competition, 95% of the guys you'll see at the events are winning with cummins and duramax powered trucks. You simply can't argue that point, and a lot of people buy their preferred brand because of that.

i would agree with Dave Ford has more trucks on the road so if they have a problem it would be more noticable.. i won't bash the PSD and if it seems i have i didn't mean it that way..i won't argue the brand thing anymore unless you are driving some GAS thingy so if it burns diesels i'm good with it.. |

Point is it's a sport, racing, sled pulling...etc... BTW there are door slammer Cummins and Duramax trucks that would keep up or dust your bike. |

I am just saying, I don't see the point of the OP switching over to a duramax just for speed. If it is speed that he is looking for in a vehicle, there are better options. And don't kid yourself with that last sentence. There might be some trucks, very few, that could outrun my bike. But I drive a 600 (smallest size) that is bone stock, and I get up to 60 mph in no time, I would like to see a truck outrun a modified hayabusa or something similar. |

You want my unbiased opinion? I think people seen what happened to the 2003-04 engine year trucks and cringed. they think these engine are leaky gutless have horrendous mileage and cannot hold a candle performance wise to a cummins or a duramax.... and anything you do your gonna either pop the heads or make the truck puke. these people are sadly mistaken. with very minor mods fullsizse crewcab trucks are running fast times the 5r110 holds the power well if tuned properly. not to mention they maintain daily drivability I bought my truck because I WONT have to buy a built transmission to handle over 400hp. Because I wont have to do some front end work so my IFS will not break. So I don't need to buy dual HPOP to make power and replace my rods to make 500hp and get a built transmission. Dollar for dollar I can make a 6.0 go as fast as I want it to go than any other engine out there in the diesel world and not make a ton of smoke and still drive it daily with good manners. And another bonus of owning a 6.0 is all I have to worry about the truck is the engine. Plus nothing beats the sound of a well tuned 6.0. |
