yeah, but then you miss out on the feeling of actually working for something that you want? to each their own, but i got my truck when i was 14 and i worked my little *** off for that on a ranch up in brownwood. my buddy's dad got him a 2008 king ranch 250 6.4.. he loves it and takes better care of it than i have ever seen anyone take care of their vehicle.. but he never feels "right" because his dad gave it to him as a gift. he says the biggest thing that troubles him about his truck is that it's like the one thing he has that he didn't work to receive. i personally wouldn't feel like it was MY truck unless i worked for it

Oh boy.....I wish I were closer to you.

Some of you guys should do a little research on these trucks, take a look at some of the daily driven Duramaxes going in the 11's on fuel only....thats right if you tune a Dmax properly you can make them fast without spraying them, some guys say their PSD is fast but take the 125+hp shot of spray off it and its not that fast. I'm not saying there aren't any quick Fords but there are far more fast Duramaxes than Powerstrokes. I like the 99-03 trucks alot, like I said in a earlier post, if I was in need of a truck JUST TO WORK with I would own a 99 F350 PSD. I wanted a fast 3/4 ton truck so I bought a Duramax. Oh and the injection pump (CP3), injectors, and turbo are stock on my truck, which will put me in the 12's as it sits. Now I know to get a 7.3 or a 6.0 to perform like this you need injectors you need a different turbo and then your faced with the HPOP problems. I'm not saying your trucks aren't nice but I just wish you guys would just admit that GM trucks are faster, yes you guys have solid front axles and a better front suspension and steering setup than we do, as for the trans issue, I give Ford credit here too, they hold up a LITTLE longer than an Allison and the newer 6sp Allisons hold up better than the older 5sp trans do.

Really its all what you like, you guys like the Ford truck, some of us like the GM truck, and some like the Cummins. lets just get over it and like someone already said "lets agree to disagree".

Sorry if I offended anyone, oh and btw I would love to set up some FRIENDLY drag racing against some Powerstrokes, hell I'll race anything....

Atleast none of us are driving Toyotas!!!!!!

the LBZ and LMM Pistons blow the quickest but LB7 Pistons doesn't mind the bigger HP but if you tune them rite 650HP(mid 11's)is very possible on the LBZ and LMM pistons.

i agree if you work for something you have a sense of pride in calling that something yours but if someone gives you something i think we need to be man enough to recieve it also(maybe thats just me be i have a hard time accepting gifts and such)..my dad never bought me a new truck although he could but he understands that if he just hands something to me i won't treat it with the respect that i would if i work for it..i have no problem if someone elses dad buys them a truck and i don't think we need to bash someone like that because of that.just my $.02

Well good luck with your truck just remember your trading one headache for another "if it has tits or tires there bound to give you trouble"

As for the Duramax guys on here....

calling 6.0's not fast? Not reliable?

Wow.... you must have all been former owners who put a predator on a 6.0 and wondered why the bolts stretched or a evolution on and wondered why your tranny took a ****.

Got your Duramax put EFI live to it and smiled... till either the allison blew or your weak frontend took a dive. Being at the track the only diesels I see blowing all the time are the Duramax's they show up every street legal do a couple 12 second passes and leave on the back of a tow truck. All in all I have seen your efi lived duramax trucks and they run good till they blow.... and thats usually not that far down the road.

I bought my 6.0 because I was told it would be expensive to do 12's....

So far the trend seems to be spend money on EGR delete studs tune intake exhaust a some form of nitrous and give er hell and you got a 12 second truck.

Don't come in here and bash the 6.0 or 7.3 without knowing what you are talking about.

Also your reliability claim... check how many warranty claims the 06 engines had also with my truck I am running really hot timing and alot of fuel for a lot of hard miles and she still runs just fine. no puking and no blown head gaskets.

But the duramax is fast and I would buy one if it had a solid front axle other than that screw IFS. But before I ever buy one I want my 12v
