well im not gonna lie....i love the dirtys....they are great and efi can do some amazing things...i recently bout a stroker and want to get rid of it for a dirty...but on the other hand with the money i saved on buying the stroker i could easily do a pretty nice build up...now as for the speed it goes to the dirty....pulling power well dirty there too....i dont know about every where else but up around the great lakes area every pull i go too its just duramax crazy...and they always win....there is only a few supermodified cummins ive seen win everyonce in a while and only one stroker and that is a truck owned by sam sanoirita....but just stock for stock no way is a stroker gonna keep up with the duraflop....ive driven both....efi live tuned stacked with quadzilla cp3 powered dirty that competes very heavily in the pulls and wins quiet often and ive driven a modified stroker....i loved them both...ohhh and to the guy that wrote about the pop cans for the engine it would have been better if you got it right not the block the head...but still pretty funny...ohhh while on this subject not to pirate the thread but what is the best tune for a 94 stroker?????

There's so much stupid, misinformation here it's not even funny.
People say "get a 6.0" yet say the Duramax is junk? Huh? Isn't that an oxymoron or something?
I don't care what anyone says, going from an OBS to any year Duramax, or any newer truck of any make is going to be an upgrade. I know more guys around town with Cummins and Powerstrokes but the guys that have Duramaxes love their trucks and they run very well.
My uncle has an 01 Chevy HD and while it's not a Duramax (6.0 vortec) it still has those same "weak" factory tie rod ends on it and with all the abuse he's put it through on jobsites guess what....still fine. It has logged well over 100,000 miles with just routine maintenance. It rides better than any truck I have owned. It is hard to pick a winner as there are so many variables when you're comparing vehicles. They each have their strong points. While I would definitely give the edge to Ford for having the truck, the motor hands down goes to the Duramax.
Get what you want.
And sign up for a Duramax forum and do a lot of research first. They'll tell you everything you want to know. They'll give you honest information about issues, like those "weak" tie rod ends, "weak" aluminum heads, the overheating thing that affected very few trucks, etc...You won't find much of that here.

Took a while for someone to post something that is actually true and non biased.

Well, those aluminum heads work pretty well. Want to know what many future diesels will feature? Aluminum.

now for the comparison between the Fords 7.3L and the Duramax,we have 2 OBS PSD's one with 400,000+miles and the other with 150,000 miles and both ofem need plugged in if you ever want to start them under 30* and our Duramax's will fire up everytime and never been plugged in..now our Duramaxs(3 ofem)range from 112,000-140,000 miles and never had any problems with them except for stuff caused by a guy learning how to tune with EFILive(i had to learn somehow)but even then nuthin serious, water pump gasket and a tranny upgrade since the stock Allison hates 500RWHP.
the 7.3L will get you there everytime but like my bro says even if they wanted to quit they ain't got enough power to blow up.
when it comes down to it put the DIESEL in your driveway that you want there.

PS,if you want lots of HP with little work the Duramax will smoke the PSD everytime thanks to the CR Injection System, and if you get a Duramax join us over at the DuramaxForum.com we can help you with the modds.
That's the consensus here didn't you know? Ford only, nothing is better, nothing is close, the rest is all junk.

14.8 with a full Banks kit? WOW! I'm surprised it's that fast. You're comparing apples to oranges, you know that right?

What did you expect? It goes to show that very few of them respect the much proven Duramax. It's stupid, it would be like the Duramax guys not respecting the 7.3. Both motors are proven.

Good post, if you're a deer.

Check this out: Mads Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Dodge Tuning - Home
Do ya see Smarty for Duramax there? That gives your post zero credibility. With what you have done to your truck according to your signature, you would be darn lucky to keep with most stock Duramaxes.

Who cares? Each and every one of you in here if given a truck by your Daddies would take it, and those that say they wouldn't are effing liars.
