What is it with Hemi Rams?!?!
Here on the coast anyone that has a RAM with HEMI on the fender acts like he is driving a GT500 on the Trans Am circuit! I am sure I am being singled out for the color of my truck (Screaming YELLOW), but every dill weed in a "HEMI" wants to stoplight drag. Its not even a contest between the two trucks. Maybe if they went the extra mile and threw on a blower, they'd have a good chance. But stock to mine, its pretty sad. I had one kid "Mad Dog" me all the way up the coast from Perdido. After a good 8 or 10 spankings, he just kept coming back for more. I just rolled up the windows, nosed infront of him, matted it, and filled the "HEMI" with coal. I know it was a crappy move on my part, but he was like a horny chihuahua, humping my leg.
That should teach the kid to leave diesels alone..... |

the Hemi is just a marketting gimick! its just rounded heads so they can fit more valves in.... but its in most cars today. ya know? its just like saying, "Hey my car has a sticker that says its fast! lets race!"
Every kid at my school that drives a dodge 1500 "HEMI" thinks they are tought sheit, i love laughing at them as i half way matt it and spank there little ram. Its hilarious. Simply put. HEMI IS A MARKETTING GIMMICK. most cars today are "hemis" but they dont put it on the side of the car cause its not that big-a-deal. haha end rant. |

Yeah, I totally understand the "hemi-spherical" combustion chamber. But they don't GET that the little 5.7, with nothing but the standard Flowmasters, has NOTHING to do with MOPAR's 426 HEMI beast. Yes, that twisted valve pattern is great for increasing fuel burn and hp yield, but the fender logo doesn't mean you have 600ftlbs of torque to mess with me at the stoplight.

Yes, Every guy that has a hemi thinks it is the baddest thing in the world!! like said all marketing its all in a name.... but if it were a TRUE hemi the ones they made back in the day, that would be a truck you wouldnt want to piss with

In a fully loaded 3/4 ton, crew cab, leather, ie; just like mine, I think a factory 426 vs a Powerstroke would be a GOOD match. Those old HEMIs had boocoo torque, just like the diesel. They were heavy too. I'd like to see that match go down. Any other takers?

yea its just a gimmick. I went to the dodge dealership 2 says about with my mopar buddy. well actually i was forced to go but i drove my ford and got crap from all the sales men....and tried so hard not to rag on everysinge truck on the lot. I told one of them their HEMI BS is a gimmick but he just played it off. I wanted to say you know dodge stands for dripping out dropping grease everywhere and mopar stands for most often passed at races. and that the only decent part of there entire company was the cummins and they dont even make it.

A few months ago I went looking at 6.7 Cummins trucks. I was JUST looking, promise. Of course, I drove my Amarillo. I keep that baby really clean, and just had the whole truck painted, all the glass, lights and chrome replaced. -Every dealership I went to it felt like parking on the wrong side of town. Not just salesmen, but servicemen and who-knows-all came out and started asking about the rig.
I did get several "You don't want a new diesel Ram, they have problems" SCARY coming from a salesman.... |
