Anybody raced....?

Has anybody pulled up beside a new D-Max with teh 350hp and 650ft lbs? I'm curious as to how the 6.0L would handle it self against one.

i have never raced one but when i was in the Air Force i drove a brand new 05 Duramax while i was on duty, and it felt ok to drive. When i opened it up it felt like it had no real top end. I dont like how it sort of "signs off" after a certain RPM, like it only has so much, my 6.0 always feels like it wants to go and go. the duramax felt like it wouldnt get out of its own way sometimes.

i think that our trucks are better tuned then theirs are...regardless of power. but we still have best hp and best diesel pulling power in our class. imho opinion...the D-Max doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell

I'm pretty sure that's not correct.

Honestly I'm surprised that the new 6.4's aren't making more power. I mean you look at the d-max and it's making some power. I was just shocked that Ford didn't 1 up Chevy like they have done for over 35 years!

After the 6.0 debacle, ford needs to focus more on just getting a truck to run w/o major problems.

Duramax's in stock trim are posting higher hp/tq #'s then the 6.0 and the 6.4.

I thought you said "imho opinion...the D-Max doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell." I've seen more stock Dmax's beat 6.0's then the other way around.

You need to go to a diesel drag event or even sled pulling. Right now Duramax trucks outnumber and outperform powerstrokes and are creeping up on Cummins. It is true, one is entitled to an opinion, but basing an opinion like that on a single experience isn't saying much. What 07 brochure did you stumble upon? The 07 trucks according to Ford's website does not have the best hp numbers. 325 is not bigger than 360, which is what the current Duramax is rated for. Even the 6.4 rate for 10hp less.
