HIRED GUN ??

I have a crazy store to share with you members. First there hasn't been a race yet, but it may happen soon and I will share the out come.

The whole thing started about a year ago. I live in Mississippi near Memphis TN, a guy contacted me who had a 6.0 powerstroke. He lives in Tupelo, MS which is about 1 hour away from me. At the time he wanted to get a turbo and build his truck due to a young kid in the area having a 6.4 that was beating up on everyone in the dirt drags. He would also talk about how his truck was the baddest truck in Mississippi, and that a 6.0 powerstroke would never be able to beat him. His truck has a big tune on it, and maybe some injectors, but not much more at that time.

So now fast forward to near present time, the guy with the 6.0 sold his truck but his friend is now in competition with this young guy. The 6.4 did get beat by a 6.0 powerstroke at the dirt drags, so now the 6.4 owners is saying that he will not be beat by a 6.0 powerstroke on asphalt, he has gotten a nitrous kit to make sure of it and is saying he will put up 1000.00 to be proven wrong.

I was contacted earlier this week by Jack the 6.0 powerstroke owner who tried to race the young guy and was beat, no money was on the line, but Jack now wants to get a turbo and build his truck to take the young guy. He asked me to help him put a combo together to beat the 6.4 truck. Well by the time I gave him the combo he knew it was a bit more then he wanted to spend right now.

I guess Jack's wheels were spinning in his head, he asked me about my truck, and I told him what I had. I do run the truck at the local track to me a 1/4 mile and best I have run was a 12.86 in the quarter. I was having trouble with the truck and have it figured out now so the off to track I go again this week.

What has been done to my truck, newer stock engine, stock heads, big fuel system, dual HPOP, big VGT turbo, big 225/75 injectors, water/meth, and nitrous. 4:10 gears 35" tires, Detroit locks front and rear, full billet transmission. The truck is a 2004 ext. cab

He called again yesterday and told me he wants to get the turbo from me, and that he kind of got me into a race with the 6.4 young guy. I asked him what are you talking about, he said that he and his 6.0 powerstroke friends have been telling the 6.4 owner about my truck and that it would walk right by him. So I guess it got so heated that they set up a race with him and me, without me knowing. they told me they would pay me to show him up. The young kid has been a chest beater, ****y, and has made a lot of people tried of his stuff. They told me that they want me to race the kid to show him what a 6.0 could do, and the kid wants to race for 1500.00. They are setting it up at a local track to them 1/8 mile, I ran 1/8 mile in 8.22 on fuel only, but again truck wasn't running right. I hope to get into a low 7.0 in the 1/8 with the nitrous but we will see this Thursday at test and tune night.

I will keep you guys updated on what happens, I'm not into racing other Fords but what the heck.

You always have chance of losing, besides I race for the hell of it and to test the different combinations, mostly to test. I have been around for a long time and there is always going to be one faster then your own self. Never said my truck is fastest, it's more about what I can build then the other.

u better double the amount of nitrous ur sprayin if uwana get into the low 7s.maybe even triple!!! 8.2 is not too bad. the 6.4s roun hear are runnin 8.2s 8.3s on a big tune with no nitrous!

GET YOUR 60' TIMES DOWN TO 1.5 1.6 LOW 1.7 PLEASE!!!!! LOL

You are right 2.0 or 1.9 are not going to do crap on 1/8 mile, and I figured that 6.4 are nasty on the 1/8. 8.3 without spray then, 7.9 with spray I would guess. I knew I have to be atleast 7.9 without to have a shot at a 6.4 with nitrous.

Just FYI, I got an 8.1 sec 8th my third time ever down a track. This was lifted but with stock tires and mods in sig...
